Three decades helping Australian workplaces stay safe and compliant

Inca Safety was built on a simple idea: compliance should make a business stronger, not just busier.

Inca Safety Chakana values model representing workplace culture, leadership, wellbeing and organisational growth

The meaning behind the mark

The Inca were famed for their art, architecture and road networks — and for the Chakana, or Inca Cross, the most respected of their symbols. Chakana means to cross, or to bridge. It represented the Southern Cross: easy to find in the night sky, a beacon to navigate by, pointing the way forward.

It stood for balance, teaching and deeper insight — which is exactly how we see our role. We bridge the gap between obligation and practice, and point your business toward a safer, more capable future.

Common questions

Questions we are asked before anyone signs anything

How do we know what we actually have to do?

Start with a health check. We look at your operations against the WHS Act, the regulations and the codes that apply to your industry, then give you a plain list of what is required, what is missing, and what matters most. No obligation to go further.

Do we need ISO certification, or just a good system?

Most businesses need a system that works. Certification is worth it when a client, tender or insurer asks for it, or when you want independent proof the system runs. We will tell you honestly which one you are in.

What are the psychosocial obligations, in practice?

Hazards like workload, role conflict, poor support, bullying and exposure to traumatic events must be identified, assessed and controlled the same way a physical hazard is, with records to show it. A wellbeing program on its own does not meet the duty.

Are you replacing our safety person?

No. We work alongside whoever holds safety in your business, or act as your external adviser if nobody does. Either way you keep ownership of the system, and we make sure your team can run it.

How long does an engagement take?

A health check takes days. A full management system build usually runs six to twelve weeks; ISO certification is three to six months. We scope it before we start so there are no surprises.

Where do you work?

Across Australia and New Zealand, on site and remotely. Travel to regional sites is arranged as part of the scope.
